The egg grapefruit diet is built around the fact that the grapefruit will help you lose weight faster. The diet has gone by different names, but is based upon the 12 day diet. Twelve days is a long time to stay on this sort of program so the three day is much better. Some critics have said that the 12 day is bad for you, but the shorter one is OK. Also a bit of a warning: if you take medications it is known that grapefruit juice can mess with some drugs. So do not drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit within 45 minutes of taking any medications.
Morning- 1 cup of coffee black, 1 egg, 1 slice of wheat toast, and ½ of a grapefruit
Lunch- 1 cup coffee black, ½ grapefruit, mixed salad, 1 tablespoon olive oil as a dressing
Dinner- salad, vegetables steamed (you can eat as many as you want), 4 ounces of any meat, ½ grapefruit
This is the menu for the egg grapefruit diet. Some people need to have snacks while on this program. Try to not, but if you must you can add an apple, an egg white or a piece of wheat toast. After 3 days you will notice that you have dropped some pounds which is exactly the reason you started this in the first place. If you want to step it up you can look up the 12 day version which is a litter harder, but there are more results obviously.
